Thank Democracy

This Thanksgiving consider including democracy in your list of blessings.  Or maybe saying “thanks” to all those working to defend and improve it.

Just a few things democracy gives us:

• a bulwark against those who would deprive us of our freedoms
• a voice in collective decisions
• a way to express–and enhance–our autonomy
• a means to work together on common goals

Of course, our democracy remains a work in progress.  But this Thanksgiving, let’s take a moment to be glad it’s still there to work on.
